Job
Summary:
Manufacture parts to specification, setup, adjust, prepare and operate automatic screw machines, optimize quality and productivity, and perform other tasks as assigned.
Job Responsibilities, including by not limited to:
Set up machines.
Diagnose and remedy operation and tooling complications.
Change collets, cams, gears.
Install tooling.
Produce tooling from raw material.
Inspect first pieces as well as per control plan, using predetermined gaging instruments such as micrometers, depth micrometers, comparator, fixed gaging, and other job specific gaging instruments to maintain specified requirements.
Load, unload, and operate machines (up to three machines).Must notify supervisor when only one machine is available to run
Make adjustments to machine tools; remove, sharpen and replace forming tools and other standard tooling.
Cleanout machine and prepare for material change.
Maintain proper oil flow to tools while operating machine.
Troubleshoot problems such as tool misalignment, feed out issues, or other occurrences that affect the part dimensionally and make appropriate adjustments.
Separate chips and bar ends from parts, clean and count the parts as trained and instructed.
Change chip tubs. Spin and dump chip tubs as well.
Operate to workmanship standards, work from prints, process routings, and/or samples to achieve, or to exceed quality and productions standards. Seek assistance if standards cannot be met.
Interface with department personnel as needed to maximize departmental production. To execute schedules (meet lead times) and to allow for uninterrupted set-ups.
Perform daily preventative maintenance on assigned machines. Maintain proper lubrication and cutting oil at proper levels.
Report work performed via E2 and maintain proper documentation.
Follow the safe practices and housekeeping instructions for the SM department.
Know and understand the relevant sections of ASP's ISO Quality Management System and how they apply to this job.
Communicate job status to department manager.
Assist in training operators.
Contribute to continual improvement.
Perform skills according to skill matrix.
Requirements:
Position Specification:
Possess mechanical aptitude.
Completed in-house training. Prior screw machine experience a plus. Operate several machines simultaneously.
Have blueprint reading, GD&T and parts inspection capabilities.
Understands tooling application and shown competence in removing, sharpening, replacing and adjusting tools.
Have interpersonal skills to interact with, and effectively relate to others.
Completed SM safety training.
Computer literate.
Read, write and speak English.
Math competency - 8th grade or greater.
Understand ASP's ISO Quality Management System.
Have basic tools and inspection equipment.
Contribute to continual improvement.

Stand and walk more than 2/3 of work day,
Sit; kneel; climb; squat; and bend and twist at waist less than 1/3 of the workday
Lift:
1-30 lbs floor to waist 1/3-2/3 of work day floor to waist
1-30lbs, waist level and above less than 1/3 of day
30lbs & over less than 1/3 of work day

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
